We had a theme of ‘Sandals and Socks’, so I did some strangeness using GUMI and CyberDivaII backed up with the SP404, a budger bass synth, the Donner B1, and then I added a pad under it using Logic’s RetroSynth engine just to fill things out. It’s weird af but I’m not going to put it in garbage so you can also find this one under Vocaloid.
We got a theme of ‘Origami’ and I’m having some jaw pain so I decided to go back to Vocaloid. I like mixing it with traditional rock setups, like guitar, bass, drums (and in this case a synth arp). It can be found on the Vocaloid page.
I’m rusty so I did a bass, drums, guitar, synth jam. I would have added horns but Logic decided that it was a great day for re-downloading all of its sound library for the third time this month. Oh and it wouldn’t let me bus anything in a track stack without bussing the whole thing so that was frustrating. (If you know, you know). Anyway, very sloppy stuff so i stuck it in Garbage. The theme was ‘Locker Room’
…but only because that was this week’s theme. Specifically “Wig”. I gave the 404 a break but wrote it by laying down a synth arp, then recording drums, then bass and finally guitar. There’s also some odd key changes and other ‘outside my usual’ attempts to try something new. It sounds identical to most of my stuff outside of the sound design. I didn’t know where to put it so into Punk it goes…
It was met with disappointment when I didn’t use the 404 last week. So I made a beat with it and then put that into Logic, where all kinds of nonsense occurred. The theme was “briefcase” and I ran out of time before I could run the whole thing back into the 404 and then back into the DAW for mastering. Maybe I’ll do that at a later time. Anyway, you can hear the track over in Jazz.
