I probably should have put this in Experimental or Garbage but I’m feeling generous with myself. I haven’t played drums, bass or sang in quite awhile. I skipped the guitars and used Logic’s Studio Horns just to keep it different. I made a little MIDI loop in Dex, played drums over that, added bass, then horns and finally did vocal improv. People say it sounds like a vocaloid, I did use vocaloo transformed copies on the background but the main vox is fairly natural. The theme was “Heirloom” but I decided to go with Hair Loom. It’s over in Punk for some reason.
But this was not that day. It was more weird vocaloid because I decided it was too hot outside to play drums and such. I did it all with a mouse but the results, based on a theme of ‘autopilot’ were so weird so I put the results in Experimental.
So we get a theme of ‘Kitsch’ and I decided to see what happens if I start with a beat and the Vocaloids then build a song around it. What came out the other side is kinda weird and crappy, but it’s so weird that rather than put it in garbage I put it in Experimental.
…and then waste 25 minutes trying to make something work in vocaloid that does not, in fact work and have to start over from scratch. Though tbqh I think I’m ok with the results despite not even having heard the finished master before i uploaded it a minute late. The theme they gave us was ‘neon lights’ and the track is over in Vocaloid.
I wasn’t pleased with last week’s entry. So much so that I didn’t even bother to put it in garbage. I was rustier than i am this week. And I just know I need to go back to the sampler but I’ve been having too much fun with AI art lately. I’m looking to make some music videos with it. Anyway we had a theme of the Ozone Layer so I made some good ole nonsense vocaloid lyrics and tried to do it more like the way they do it in the instructional videos.
