Happy 2021! We had a kind of ‘trade theme’ theme where it randomized everyone’s new year’s resolutions. I got “Have Fun” so i wrote a party anthem style song.
In case you missed it, The This Complete Breakfast Holiday Special was actually posted on time, if you missed it you can watch it on our YouTube Channel and I’ll also try to embed the video below. I’m hoping to make it a regular show where we do some skits and perform a couple of songs, and of course there would be puppets. Otherwise it wouldn’t make any sense.
I also had some new songs to finish out 2020:
I have two songs that I’ve been sitting on because every time I get in front of my computer it’s to work on The This Complete Breakfast Holiday Special! Yes, that will be a thing. It’s due to be released on 12/23, perhaps a touch earlier if editing goes well. Or a touch later if it doesn’t.
We’ll be streaming as TCB tomorrow at 7pmEDT as part of COGIG: https://www.facebook.com/groups/givinggigs apparently it’s aiming for the Guinness record for largest or longest streaming event.
Two weeks ago we had a strange theme that involved some participants being labelled as ‘spies’ and having to guess the location where they were meeting. It was odd, and was even odder because i somehow managed to guess, from a list of 51 options, the actual location. Which confused everyone. Anyway, it’s about libraries. And then today we had Avocado Toast again so I wrote a song about Avogadro Number, sort of. All my guitars and such are downstairs in prep for tomorrow.
I’m not proud of this particular mess at all. They gave me a theme of ‘Coconuts’ and I wrote a song about tits. Then the solo was so poorly done at the end that after I’d turned off my amp I realized it needed to be rerecorded so it’s a terrible sounding stock logic amp sound. But, hey, I’m not going to hide the garbage because this way the other run-of-the-mill garbage sounds better in comparison!!
A couple weeks back we had a theme of Couch Potato and I got a little experimental. Our Dingbatz show was cancelled but maybe next year we’ll start playing gigs again. There’s a potential for more live streams now that I figured out how to use OBS. The Manatee Blood Frenzy did a test stream to make sure it worked and everything appears to be fine, other than some hiccups with starting it up and my face being front-and-center while I realize, like the doddering old man that I am, that it was in fact already streaming.
